The senior advisor carries out strategic and analytical assignments in the agri-food sector, aiming to give our clients a better understanding of their economic and political business environment through analyses, strategies, and tools developed by Groupe AGÉCO.

Do you recognize yourself?

  • University degree in economics, ideally agroeconomics, or equivalent;
  • Significant experience in economic and policy analysis, ideally in the agri-food sector, with strong economic intuition;
  • In-depth knowledge of agricultural and public policies, agri-food value chains, and/or sectoral issues;
  • Ability to translate analysis results into concrete recommendations and actions;
  • Project management skills, problem-solving abilities, analytical skills, and information research skills;
  • Autonomy, rigor, critical thinking, initiative, and excellent customer relations skills;
  • Ability to work with a variety of clients: provincial/federal government, producers, associations, and agri-food manufacturers;
  • Excellent command of French and English (spoken and written).

Reporting to the Economic Studies department, the incumbent will act as a consultant and project manager. He or she will actively participate in the implementation and management of various projects aimed at helping our clients develop pragmatic solutions for the agri-food sector across Canada.

Reporting to our Economic Studies department, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

Coordination and execution of mandates:

  • Plan, organize, and/or supervise the execution of assigned mandates from planning to delivery;
  • Synthesize and present analyses in the form of reports or presentations, simplifying complex information for internal and external audiences;
  • Produce strategic recommendations to guide decision-making, tailored to client needs and sectoral issues;
  • Coordinate internal teams and clients, ensuring that deadlines are met and deliverables are of high quality;
  • Support clients in analyzing and interpreting data and advise them on economic and political issues;

Business development:

  • Develop and maintain customer relationships, ensure satisfaction, and anticipate new needs;
  • Contribute to economic and political monitoring in the agri-food sector, with a focus on public frameworks and programs, track developments, and identify opportunities or risks for current mandates;
  • Contribute to Groupe AGÉCO’s overall service offering and support the management team in actively soliciting business and preparing service proposals.
